  • Agrologists Act
    An act establishing the Newfoundland and Labrador Institute of Agrologists. The Act outlines the objectives, structure, operation and membership of the Institute.

  • Animal Health and Protection Act
    This Act consolidates and updates the provisions of the previous Animal Protection Act, Dog Act, Heritage Animals Act, Livestock Act, and Livestock Health Act which have now been repealed. It was passed on May 2nd, 2012 along with 8 sets of subordinate regulations. opens new window This new Act and regulations provide regulatory means to control animal welfare, nuisance animals, animal diseases, the use of antibiotics in domestic animals and the promotion of heritage animals in this province.

  • Crop Insurance Act
    An act respecting the Newfoundland and Labrador Crop Insurance Agency. The Crop Insurance plan is covered under this act. The plan offers insurance on insurable agricultural crops. The Act designates the Newfoundland and Labrador Crop Insurance Fund and also the Crop Insurance Board.

  • Farm Practices Protection Act
    An Act respecting the protection of Farm Practices in the province.

  • Farm Products Corporation Act
    An act respecting the administration of Farm Products Corporation.

  • Livestock Insurance Act
    An act to provide for livestock insurance and respecting the Livestock Owners Compensation Board. The Livestock Insurance Plan is covered under this act. The plan offers insurance on beef, sheep, cattle and goats from predatory attacks by dogs or coyotes. The Act designates the Livestock Owners Compensation Fund and the Livestock Owners Compensation Board.

  • Meat Inspection Act
    An act to provide for animal and meat inspection in slaughterhouses. This act includes Meat Inspection Regulations which provide the details on standards and licensing for animal and meat inspection in slaughterhouses.

  • Natural Products Marketing Act
    An act to allow for the creation of commodity boards, and a supervisory board to protect the interests of the general public, and an act to amend the Natural Products Marketing Act and the Farm Practices Protection Act to create the Farm Industry Review Board.

  • Plant Protection Act
    An act respecting the protection of plants and the prevention of the spread of pests and diseases destructive to vegetation.

  • Poultry and Poultry Products Act
    An act respecting all poultry and poultry products such as chicken and eggs.

  • Vegetable Grading Act

  • Veterinary Medical Act, 2004
    An Act governing the veterinary profession in this province.
